Our Dad

Our dad was a wonderful man. He worked side by side and hand in hand with his beloved wife Ruth to raise six children. The first lesson we learned was that Mom and Dad were one unit. You couldn't go around one to get the desired answer from the other, they unfailing deferred to each other and truly worked as a team. And as a team, they taught us some very important things. First and foremost, they taught us by example in the way they were devoted to each other. One of the important things our dad taught us, was to always treat other people with the same respect we would want to be treated with, even if those we were dealing with didn't appear to deserve it. We were always taught to love one another and that family comes first - and he also showed us that a person doesn't have to be born of the same blood to be considered family. He was loyal and true to his blood relatives and his many friends. Our dad taught us to be kind to others and he taught us morals. He gave us a spirituality that has given us all strength and comfort in our lives. The greatest gift our dad gave us, was his sense of humor. He carried that humor throughout his life; even preserved it through his worst moments as Alzheimers tried to steal it away. His sense of humor was with him when he left us to go to heaven - and now the Angels are enjoying it there, while it lives on here in his six children, 17 grandchildren and 11.75 great grandchildren. Our dad was a loving person and a strong and giving man. Our dad was Alfred Larsen. Rest in Peace Dad. We know you are whistling along with the harps in Heaven. I'll Love you Forever, Cathy
